Nematode Fighters
Richard M. Sayre, USDA Nematology Lab, Beltsville, MD presents Nematode Fighters . "Ask not what the plant can do for you. Ask what can I do for the plant?" Deep in the soil, the Nematode Fighters hear this challange. The fabulous four spring into action by seeking out one of the major pests of agricultural crops — THE NEMATODE. The Biology of Cameraria ohridella
This video, by Ulrich Zunke and Gerhard Doobe, chronicles the feeding behavior and morphology of the horse-chestnut leaf miner, Cameraria ohridella, in Hamburg, Germany. The occurence, distibution, and population dynamics of three generations is documented and analyzed, and the morphology of all stages is investigated by light and scanning electron microscopy. Possibilities for control of this pest with insecticides, mechanical methods, and biological techniques is discussed (40 minutes, in German only with plans for English translation, on CD and DVD).$49.95
