Educational Resources

Please read our USAGE POLICY concerning the use of photos from our CDs.

We specialize in educational resources such as photographs on CD ROMs (for teaching, extension and web page illustration), as well as videos and books. Our educational resources are readily available for research and study and for illustrating class lectures, seminars and handouts (PC & MAC compatible).

Our CDs are constantly updated so that they will be compatible with the latest operating systems, such as Windows XP and MacOSX.

In order to see the quality of our photographs, please click on the thumbnails throughout our website to open the full-sized images.

We have image collections on CDs illustrating various biological subjects (plant pathology, nematology, mycology, entomology, horticulture) from some of the best scientific sources in the world. Each picture has been carefully selected for content, retouched to remove imperfections and saved at the highest quality jpeg format. Not only are there from 650 to 1,000 photographs in each collection, but they can be searched by key words.

(Waikapix contains more than 250 photos of a tribe of Venezuelan Indians; Florapix Vol. 1 and Mycopix Vol. 2 are not yet available.)

Our digitized videos include:

• an instructional video on CD which depicts the live action and morphology of the most common genera of plant-parasitic nematodes at both high and low magnfications

• a video on the technique of staining chromosomes of root-knot nematodes

• a video on CD showing the natural enemies of nematodes

• a CD depicting the life cycle of an insect pest which is devasting the horse chestnut trees in Germany and other European countries (in German only at this time)

Identification Guides for the Most Common Genera of Plant-Parasitic Nematodes is an original book written by nematologist J. D. Eisenback. Each guide has a high resolution light micrograph, a list of key features that are useful for the identification, a general distribution, the most common hosts, and a reference for two of the most recent and useful keys to species within the genus.

This set of full-color guides, contained in a notebook, is great for teaching since the purchase of the collection includes permission to make a reasonable number of copies from a CD ROM which comes with the set.

Nematology Laboratory Investigations, Vol. 1 - Morphology & Taxonomy consists of 25 time-tested investigations on the morphology and taxomony of nematodes. Each lab has a brief introduction, clearly stated objectives, a list of resources required, and a worksheet outlining procedures for completing each exercise. The investigations are clearly illustrated with line drawings, and key questions are included.

An included CD ROM allows the instructor to print individual labs for each of his/her students.

Our digitized books comprise a collection of out-of-print plant nematology books on CDs by classic authors such as N. A. Cobb and B. G. Chitwood, as well as current nematologists.
